I am happy to announce that I have some standings to show everyone.  First let me take one minute to explain what is happening here at the JNFL Headquarters.

As previously stated we are working right now around the clock to fix/update theJNFL scoring system.  The plan was to upload the new and improved system to the website following the start of the Loudon race.  Unfortunately it didn't happen.  It will happen.  It is done and ready to rock.  At the last minute it was discovered that a major important thing that had to be done was overlooked.  As much as that stinks, it must be done correctly or there is no point in doing it at all.

Currently the system is keeping score as if the Chase for the Championship never started.  I have unpublished the link to view the Adult Standings to help avoid any confusion.  Below you will see what I currently have as the standings for the Chase and the Lucky Dog.  You can click on the player's names and view their personal stats.  Please note, if you click on a name in the Chase their point totals will not reflect their bonus points for making the post-season.

I need to let everyone know that the current JNFL scoring system is being worked on - feverishly.  Greg Shaeffer and I have been trying for a while now to figure out why we have a few little problems calculating data correctly.  While I don't want to bore you with techno-babble, it is time for us to start the playoffs here with the Loudon race today so having the score correct now more than ever is critical in my eyes.

Notice:  Patty Cakes, Noah, Joe Pope, Joe Bosco and Dottie lost 10 bonus points (they all picked Carl Edwards at Las Vegas).

I want to take a minute and congradulate all 29 players that have qualified for the JNFL Chase for the Championship.  We had a great time at the Indian Valley Inn on Sunday watching the race together hoping our driver would finish well enough to assure us a place in the playoffs.  As JNFL President I want you all to understand that the standings as you currently see them are UNOFFICIAL until further notice.

This year the scoring system we use was built brand new to start the season.  While it has done a great job so far this season, there are some glitches.  We know what they are and this week I will have to preform double-check sweep over the field to make absolutely sure the people that earned their way into the playoffs are in the playoffs.

All that said, what it looks like now is what we feel is right.  A number of people were adjusted (Bob McLaughlin, Dan Mengel. George Mease, John Tasker and Joyce) for calling in illegal picks.  Greg is now working his checks to finalize the regular season.

UPDATE!!!  I just went back and adjusted Carl Edwards at Las Vegas.  You all may remember that he was docked 100 points and had the win taken away following the race for failing post-race inspection.  Our scoring system currently does not have a way to discount wins, basically because I had never seen anything quite like that.  So for now I changed Carl's finish and made it a second place (2) instead of a first place (1).  That will make sure that all the JNFL members that picked him for that race do not get 10 bonus points when they start the JNFL Chase for the Championship.
