Attention all JNFL Members. It has been realized that the new scoring system in use for the JNFL has a small glitch. We currently have a few people in the league that are not being scored correctly as a result. I want to take a minute to explain the problem and assure you that it is being fixed.
As you all know you are only allowed to pick a driver three (3) times. That is regardless of how you use the driver, weather as your intended pick or in the form of a Back-up Driver. The website is designed perfectly to keep score this way. All people that use the website to make their pick are actually kept from being able to pick a driver for a 4th time. Also, a list of all the drivers a player has used and how many times is also provided to make keeping track of your season as easy as possible.
Unfortunately it has come to our attention that the code for illegal pick detection and Back-up Driver use is not spitting out the correct results. There are a couple hundred lines of code that need to be examined. The problem will be straightened out shortly.
For now please understand that nobody will be allowed to take a driver more than 3 times. If you did pick a driver for a 4th time and thought you got away with it - think again. As of right now I can see that Patty Cakes has picked Tony Stewart four times and Daniel in the Kid's league was able to pick Carl Edwards five times. They have been adjusted. More changes may be coming.
In closing I would like to personally apologize for the error. I take great pride in our ability to keep score correctly. It is the biggest responsibility I have as President of the JNFL and I take it personally when things are not correct. I can only hope that you all understand this is a test season for this new scoring system. While we would love to have built a perfect system there is no way to know it is working without actually using it. The good part is we have all the correct data collected, it is just a matter of displaying the results the way we want.
Thank you for your patience on this matter. Please Login and goto the JNFL Forum to comment about this situation / article.

In celebrating our 10th season of existence I would like to take you all on a look inside the JNFL Headquarters. Unless you are actually here it would be very difficult for a JNFL member to fully understand and appreciate the world that is Judd’s NASCAR Fantasy League. We had long talked of video taping and maybe some day we still will. I figure the next best way to share my day would be a one-day diary. A blog if you will, of what I do all day. So without any further ado, I give you my Chicagoland 2008 race day diary.
6:38am – I woke up. I really don’t sleep in anymore. I get up at 5am every morning for work so 6:30 is actually late for me. First things first I need to hit the head. We have a nice little window there and while I stand there doing my thing I notice out in the alley a man walking by on his way to work. Sure enough, it is Mark Lee from the power duo of Mark & Kim. Were it not so early in the morning I would have yelled ‘Go Dale’ and he would surely have laughed. Finished, I head back to bed for a little more rest.

Dear JNFL Members, as it was figured over the weekend, Martin Truex Jr. has been fined 150 points by Nascar for infractions at Daytona. As far as I can tell nobody in the adult league picked Martin yet one player in the kid's league did. Here is the exact wordage from Nascar.com:
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- NASCAR on Tuesday issued penalties, fines and suspensions to the car No. 1 team that competes in the Sprint Cup Series, as a result of rules infractions found last week at Daytona International Speedway
The car driven by Martin Truex Jr., was found to be in violation of Sections 12-4-A (actions detrimental to stock car racing); 12-4-Q (car, car parts, components and/or equipment used do not conform to NASCAR rules); and 20-3.8A (roof of the car does not conform to the specifications) of the 2008 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series rule book.
As a result, Truex Jr. and car owner Teresa Earnhardt have been penalized 150 championship driver and 150 championship owner points, respectively.
Both the crew chief, Kevin Manion, and the car chief, Gary Putnam, have been suspended from the next six Sprint Cup Series events, suspended from NASCAR until Aug. 27 and placed on probation until Dec. 31.
Additionally, Manion has been fined $100,000.
The infractions were discovered July 3 during opening day inspection.
