The Phoenix weekend has come and gone and I have to believe it will be a while before I forget all the action we shared together. For those of you that had to miss the party, you missed a good one. I counted over 20 JNFL members on hand for the action. Heck, we had a couple drive all the way from Rhode Island just to pop in and say hi.
For starters, Saturday was easily the best spring day we have seen yet. June and I had a blast working around the house, playing in the garden and running back and forth to Home Depot. With about two hours to go before the race started, the phone started to ring. Now that we are in the season pretty far it seems that everyone knows how to make a pick on the website so everything went really smooth. A few people failed to call that always do, most notably Steve and Spencer Jones, Charlie and Canute. The last two fellows called in on Sunday to apologize, the were in the mountains fishing for trout and completely forgot. Canute is on the internet now and was able to shoot me an apology over the internet too. Here is what he said:

As expected Ryan Newman was penalized 25 points following Texas for failing post race inspection. Looks like only Mike Wells was unfortunate enough to have picked him for the race. Alas it is our duty to let you know. The official terms and conditions look like this:
NASCAR has issued penalties and fines to the No. 12 team that competes in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, as a result of rule infractions found last Sunday at Texas Motor Speedway.

This weekend we are back underway at Martinsville Virginia after a nice Easter break. I hope you enjoyed your free time and used it wisely - it is time to get back to the business at hand - racing. Personally I really like not having the first break of the season after the second race, as in years past. That really killed the momentum created by Daytona. All the same I could go every week all year just the same, but then I don't have to travel to each location. You cant tell me you wouldn't like to have a race to watch over the holidays instead of college football?

It is with great honor that I can announce the birth of not one but two babies this past Easter Saturday. Noah Hansell's wife Midory gave birth to a boy and Rob Averitt's wife Nicki delivered a girl. Everybody is healthy and happy. This is Midory and Noah's second child and the first for Rob and Nicki. They were kind enough to allow the JNFL press into the delivery rooms and have granted release of the photos to the league members. Talk about all access!

Hey Ya'll... I was in the middle of writing an article about the NASCAR Commission and someone beat me to the punch. I read this other article and it really says it all. It explains in detail all about the NSCRC and really gives you the best insight on who the folks are that make up the Commission. These fellas are the NASCAR judicial system. Accuser, Judge and Jury. Quite a line up...Rogue
