Monday:  I see a few things here that I wanted to share with you.  Upon the results from Dover becoming official you'll see that Kurt Busch and Ryan Newman swapped finishing positions.  In doing so Kurt Busch lost 3 points.  It has also been revealed that Carl Edwards failed post-race inspection and may be facing a possible punishment in the form of points taken away.  If you picked Edwards for Dover, I suggest that you cross your fingers and toes for good luck, you'll need it.

Sunday Post-race:  The Dover race is over and the smake has settled.  Looks like someone actually finished the race.  Was touch and go there for a bit but Carl Edwards now has a Monster Smile on his face along with anyone in the JNFL that picked him.  This week we had three people make illegal picks (Lucky Dog leader George Mease was one).  For now the results are unofficial but it looks like Papa Smurf Chris G. is now in the lead.  Out of 29 players he was the only one who picked two top-5's in the first two races of the Chase.  Nice work Chris.

Friday:  The race at Dover this weekend is another 'home' race for us here in the JNFL.  It is a sure bet that someone in the league will be in attendance.  Jimmie Johnson won the pole for Sunday's race.  I set all the stars (*) next to the driver's names here in the website so that is all good.  Looks like there will be two practices on Saturday.

Pretty soon here I will be announcing that tickets are available for the JNFL Banquet.  The date is the same as it has been for the last number of years - the Saturday night of December 1st.  Store up some acorns and be ready, you will have to buy them in advance.

The JNFL will once again be holding a Poker Tournement to raise funds for the Kid's League.  Details for that will be coming soon as well.  I hope you all have enjoyed your summer, ours was a blast here.  See you all real soon.

Update Sunday Update!!!  Looks like the standings are now being displayed correctly (Thanks Greg for stopping your life for the JNFL).  Good luck all with your Loudon picks.

Sunday Update!!!  The Loudon race has started and all picks are locked into the grid.  Currently the website is not displaying them and we are getting that worked out as fast as possible.  Sorry.  I think I am doing something wrong.  It is all new.  Stay tuned.

Saturday:  This weekend the JNFL President and First Lady are in Atlantic City to witness the wedding of Colin and Tiffany.  That has made updating the website a little tricky, but we found a cyber cafe on the boardwalk this Saturday afternoon.  Looks like Nextel Cup practice has been cancelled for Saturday?  Looks that way to me.  Short on time so I am going to update the driver's star's (*) and get moving.  We will be home to talk your calls on raceday - good luck!

Well, we ran out of time and bought some more.  Pretty cool, for 30 minutes it only costs $5.  We are done here.  The wedding was beautiful and everyone had a blast.  Hope to share a couple pictures when we get home.  This computer won't let me change the picture on the front of the website so you all will have to live with Harvick for the extended future.  So much for planning ahead.  See you all when we get back to PA.  Chow!

The 26th race of the season has been run and, while the results are still unofficial, we can see who will be playing for the title this year.  First and foremost I would like to congradulate everyone who finished the regular season in the top-29 and especially Chrissy for finishing first.  At the JNFL Fantasy Banquet she will be awarded the 2007 Fantasy Medallion for this excellent accomplishment.

Looking at the list of who got in shows me who fell out that would have been in were it not for Richmond.  Scott A. made an illegal pick, had no Back-up Driver left and as a result took a goose-egg.  That dropped him from 20th place all the way to 44th and on the outside looking in.  Ouch, kick me in the jimmies!  Our hero Tim OConnell, rookie extrarordinaire, has been telling everyone who would listen that he was going to win the Championship this year and bring home the top rookie award in the process, looks to be holding the short stick with his Carl Edwards pick.  He blew a motor early in the running and was never a factor, dropping Tim from 14th in the JNFL to 31st - two spots outside the playoffs.  That leaves us with just one rookie qualified for the 'Chase for the Championship', so Rob Averitt wins the 2007 JNFL Rookie of the Year award.

My heart goes out to Patty Cakes for she picked Dale Earnhardt Jr. and was running near the top all night only to blow her motor inside of 10 laps to go.  She tumbled from 21st right out of the top-29 to 32nd place.  Kudo's to Eileen Michalka for pulling of the biggest gain to get into the post-season.  Her pick of Jimmie Johnson won the race and jumped her from 41st place right into the Chase in 28th.

If all things stay the same, Todd C. will start the 'Chase' in first place because he has the most wins with six.  So while he lost 10 positions with his Dale Earnhardt Jr. pick, he will now gain 25 positions to the top of the heap.  That has got to feel good for this JNFL Founding Member.  Maybe his ship has finally come in.  One thing is for sure, it has been out to sea for years now.  Congratulations Todd.

Saturday Pre-race:  The plan here is to post all picks for Richmond shortly after the race starts.  Everything is on time here.  Unfortunately I am kinda tired and I don't think I will be alive at the end - hopefully I will be.  The system we will be using to calculate the Chase and Lucky Dog standings is waiting to be installed.  That should happen Sunday morning around noon.  Hopefully it will all by ready for your viewing without a hitch, but not one second sooner.  Good luck all!

Friday:  This is the last race of the regular season so lets make it a good one.  By my count I see only 7 people who are guarenteed to make the Chase right now.  Some of them need to simply make a legal pick for Richmond and regardless of result, they will be in.  If you want to figure out what your magic number is, do this - if you are currently in the top-29, add 195 points to they player currently in 30th.  Then subtract your current total.  If the number is higher than 161, you are locked in with a legal pick.  The smaller the number, the more you need to chew your fingernails.

I have updated the link for the starting line-up and adjusted the stars (*) next to the drivers names to show who has made the race.  There were some changes I noticed; Kenny Wallace is driving the #88 because Ricky Rudd seperated his shoulder last week in the California race.  Joe Nemechek is now driving Kenny's old ride the #78.  Mark Martin is back behind the wheel and Dale Jarrett is going to stick around for the green flag as well.  On a sad note I heard that Jeremy Mayfield's father passed away on Wednesday night.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the Mayfield family in this difficult time.

Good luck everyone with your pick, I would love to see us all in the Chase.  Unfortunately that would not be much of a playoff if everybody qualified.  Can you imagine the regular season - I pick Shelmerdine!

Monday:  That was a pretty wild race for California.  I can't remember ever seeing that many cautions.  Of course I also had never seen a race run on the surface of the sun until last night either.  Apparently Jimmie Johnson won the thing.  It was such a long day I did not make it to the end.  It was all good, I picked the winner.

This is where the JNFL season kicks into high gear.  We have one more race to decide who makes the post-season and who will continue to play for the 'Lucky Dog' prize.  In order to qualify for the 'Chase' you must finish in the top-29 of the Adult League standings.  Currently only the top-3 players are locked into the playoffs.  The players back to 7th place need only make a pick that starts the race and they are in.  That means 22 spots are still available for a chance to win the 2007 JNFL Championship.  Are you in?

Sunday:  Happy Labor Day weekend everyone.  It is nice to be back here in Pennsylvania for a glorious day here at the JNFL Headquarters.  Tonight the Nextel Cup will race in Fontana Ca. and the stars (*) next to driver's names here in the website should be up to date.  Looks like Kyle Petty is back in the mix since breaking his hand punching a wall in frustration from the performance of his race car.  I personally am surprised it took this long to realize he has been running so poorly.
