The last race of the season is going to be run at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Looks like they are having typically perfect weather once again in Florida. On Friday the cars qualified one last time and the field is now set. I have adjusted the stars (*) next to their names in your list so you know who is in the race. Nice to see Dale Jarrett make the race. It was a bummer to hear about his good friend being rushed to the hospital. Of course Michael Waltrip missed the race and look, Sam Hornish made the field for the second week in a row.
This of course will be the last race for Dale Earnhardt Jr. in the #8 Budweiser car for DEI. Will also we the last race for the #25 with Rick Hendrick as the owner. He has been running that since the mid-80's with a lot of great drivers behind the wheel - including himself. Ricky Rudd is retiring, again.
There is also a little thing called the Nextel Cup Championship on the line. That means the JNFL Vhampionship is also up fro grabs. We have eleven (11) players mathmatically elidgable to come out of Homestead with the title. This has the making of a very fun party. Everybody I have talked to is coming - seriously everybody. I remember the one year when Dave Mantle got out of work and drove from New Jersey for over an hour to make the party. He understood what a priveledge it is to be in the JNFL.
