Dear JNFL Members,
Currently the JNFL is a private organization that can allow and deny access to anyone it deems fit for membership. Next year the JNFL is planning a move to become open to everyone in the world who wants to play. In doing so the current ‘Adult’ standings will splinter slightly into multiple groups with one group consisting of a strict list of the people who are a part of the local scene here in town and a list of people who play strictly on the internet. This season, if all goes well, will prove that the website database is strong enough to handle everyone and allow for countless mini-leagues. Want to play against your co-workers? Start a side league. Want to play in the main league because you know a person already playing but are from out of town? There will be a way for you to get in on the fun as well – without having the Founding Members watch strangers winning their local league. As 2008 progresses we will be continuing to work on these issues and a complete definition will be visible further down the road. For now it is important that you all know this year you all will be under review. People who want to be a part of the league that we are currently playing in must show as such. Before next season a panel of select members with great influence will be assembled to determine who shall be allowed in and if a member needs to be bumped out. It is our belief that too many outsiders have gained access to our private league and a cap of sorts must be built. I basically know everyone currently in the JNFL and it would not be a surprise if you all made the cut. We do have a group of people playing who never make it to any functions unless they finish in the money. That’s not the spirit of competition that this private league was founded on and such behavior will not be tolerated. We, the JNFL Founding Fathers and all its members, have contributed in making this the coolest Nascar fantasy league in the world. It pains me to have to tell people that they can’t play and after this season everyone in the world can join in on the fun. That said, I promise, as long as I am the JNFL President, we will always have our private league that only our friends will be allowed to win. Soon we will have both. Good luck this year and hopefully we will see you soon!

This season the JNFL celebrates it’s tenth year and that means a lot to me. While we will not be changing any rules, basically, there is much change on the horizon as more and more people hear about how cool the JNFL is and want to play along with the rest of us. With great consternation and much debate it has been decided that this 2008 season will be the final year that new players will be accepted into the league under the current format.
