I need to take this time to let everyone in the JNFL know that June and I are headed to California to watch the race.  As always there will be people here to take your picks, answer the phone and keep the JNFL Headquarters operating.  While we have done this often in the past, this weekend is a little different for a few reasons.

1.  The backend of the website was just rebuilt - beautifully I might add - so The First Mother is not obligated to enter the picks made over the phone into the database.  Nobody will be able to make a pick once the race starts but unfortunately, if you goto see who everyone picked for the California race by looking at the standings, you will only see picks entered by the computer users in the league.  You might see Back-up Drivers or NONE showing for people who did make a pick. 

2.  With the new website being beautiful and all, The First Mother has been shown how to enter in the picks and may do so if she chooses.  For all intensive purposes, all JNFL picks for California are unofficial and will remain that way until we return.  Hopefully this will save my answering machine from a few unnecessary messages and releave any tensions that may arise ndue to misinformation posted on the web.

3.  If you do phone in you picks, please use your JNFL League Name.  That is how they appear on the weekly scoresheet here.

4.  If you forgot to give us a Back-up Driver, you need to do so right away.  You may no longer Login and do it via the website - the function has been turned off.  Call the JNFL HQ or shoot us an e-mail to get your BUD in the system as soon as possible.  If you have already chosen a BUD you may not change it.  Any and all BUD updates will not be visible on the website until we come home.

5.  If I can, I will enter in the race results at some time while I am in California - thus updating the JNFL Standings.  I can promise nothing and will not even try if Martha does not enter in all the California picks.  But hey, June and I are wanting to know the results just like you so you never know.  We will see what we can do.

PS - ZZ Top is suposed to play a mini-concert before the race.  June and I have pit passes and should be in the crowd.  If you are looking for us on TV, that might be our best chance.
