I sent this e-mail to Dave Moody (Sirius) today. I thought it would make a good read so here it is.  Be sure and click 'READ MORE' to finishing reading.
Dear Godfather,
There are a lot of people, yourself to some degree included, who have got to cut Mr. Ralph Dale some slack.  Could we let the man rest in peace please?  Everyone has it remembered as he was such a dirty driver.  Sure, who can forget all his classic finishes with a chrome horn involved.  Lets not forget that he went hunting the next day with Terry Labonte following Bristol and Bobby Hamilton Sr. had nothing but the utmost respect for Dale - Rockingham remembered.
Dale spun Rusty at Bristol a couple times and Nascar sent him to the back, I think he dumped Terry at the end when Terry won - Great race!  Rusty is such a bozo anyway, hilarious when he goes around.  Terry flat blocked him and deserved his checkered flag.  At the same time, out of the car, Mr. Earnhardt was extremely generous, ground-breaking, and to a certain extent, the reason you all have such cool jobs today.

Who can forget Earnhardt and Rusty at Richmond - side by side - lap after lap after lap, for 5th place on the track 180 laps in, GREAT stuff.  Senior was the hardest pass Jeff Burton made when he led every lap at Loudon.  Junior and Kenseth ran side by side for the lead for a number of laps, clean, at Charlotte in the All-star event the week after punk put Junior in the fence when he drove over his head into the turn at Richmond.

My opinion is that there are too many kids (Joey Lagano, Adam Petty) getting quality rides where as proven adults who have paid their dues coming up are passed over.  People with an understanding of the value of a dollar.  Men with a mortgage payment are more inclined to enjoy a little side by side.  Kids who don't work on the cars or pay for the cars, have huge contracts (enough money that I could retire with) are more inclined to 'race you out of the way', occasionally putting everyone in the fence learning how to run with good equipment.  Think Ernie 'Swirvin' Ervin (a lot of wins, remembered for wrecking people too often).  Think about the kid who missed the caution and ran you over way after you finished wrecking on the other straightaway.  Just way too young to have such good equipment.
Personally I believe everything is fine as is.  This is after all a 'self-cleaning oven'.  Eventually everyone develops an understanding  as to how hard the wall actually is.  Jeff Gordon has not been the same since his t-bone early this year (was that Vegas?).  At the same time though a watched pot never boils.  What is happening today in Nascar is not how it will be forever.  Punk kid comes into the sport with equipment faster than his experience, could lead to ruins.  When I go to the track I boo both Kurt Busch and Kyle Busch.  Nothing like haveing to race Saturday night before Mother's day and have to trot your mother out to a LOUD chorus of booing.  One that circles the track like a violent storm.  Eventually Jimmy Spencer will put you in the fence at the end of the Brickyard straightaway and fix your punk ass - or whenever you go out in public people will hate you everywhere.  You make your own b ed in life, that will never change.
In closing, if nothing else, I would like to say thank you Godfather for making your way to work everyday as I truly enjoy listening to your show each day, when I can.  You and your crew make my love of racing so much more fun because of your individual efforts.  I can only hope you will look upon my thoughts I shared here with enthusiasim.  This topic is fantastic and my ability to describe each thought in detail is limited with a short e-mail.
Please let Dale Earnhardt Sr. rest, he had great car control, tremendous respect from everyone in the racing community and a 20+ year career filled with acts of generosity and sportsmanship.  Some punk kid with a couple wins hasn't earned the right to be compared the Man.  At least wait till punk gets more career wins than Jeremy 'Pocono' Mayfield.
